For the first time in human history, the earth seems tiny and vulnerable. Man's capacity to exploit nature has grown considerably. The stability of its geographical environment as well as the proper study of the corresponding endogenous and exogenous processes are paramount for Tbilisi to function as the nation's capital. The aforementioned factors must also be taken into account for the future development of the city. The active development of various infrastructural and housing projects during the past decade (and also those in active development today) have made a direct impact on the landscape of Tbilisi. Human interference has resulted in the activation and/or formation of exodynamic processes in certain districts. Thus, the study of Tbilisi's landscape and its anthropogenic transformation is an active topic.
